Up, up and a GIVEAWAY !

Arti had so much fun with our latest collection of accessories. He instantly created his own imaginary world when he pulled up his bloomers and donned his cape and mask. It was just as much fun following him around with the camera and seeing what he came up with!

pink

I am not a huge fan of pink at all. I try to avoid it when buying clothes for Oki but when i find  a beautiful dusty pink and at times a really deep pink i can come around. Since being here i have had more exposure to it within the cultural celebrations, flowers and when choosing a fishing net the other day, i bought a pink one! Its a perfect storage for the pool things, now all i need to do is get my kids to put their goggles in here. 

Soon in the shop this beautiful deep pink Luna combined with a lovely red batik printed fabric will be available. This Batik print reminds me of the woven fish net pattern and the many baskets you find here. She's just lovely and the perfect combination of pink and red together.... I was once told that pink and red don't work....i like them together, a lot!

7 today

We kept this year a simple affair for her 7 year old birthday.

Beach, beautiful food, bikes, kites, cake and her brothers and us. It was perfect and even after a long bike ride beside the beach and knowing shes's thirsty i hear her say "this is the best birthday ever". Ah! She makes my heart sing, she likes things simple too!

Hello,  I hope you had a lovely weekend. We had a full house with the kids friends having sleep overs, so there were late nights and a few movies and lots of noise and laughter!  Sunday....we found a wonderful beach and actually relaxed, the kids entertained themselves which was a blessing!

To start the week i want to show you a sneak peek of a few pieces from our new 'small collection'. I am really excited about these new additions to the 'udder' range with each piece made beautifully from hand dyed  and hand printed (batik) 100% cotton fabrics.

We have baby bloomers in many colours and patterns along with some bibs, a nappy clutch and this gorgeous cape and mask set which is both for little boys and girls....there's a cheeky bandit in us all (even this little character) !

weekend goodness

It was a lovely weekend.

We ventured out on Saturday and visited for the first time the perfect coffee house...'Espress'. From the coffee to the decor and the i-pads for the kids it really was great to discover this little haunt which we will now visit frequently when in need of a good coffee.

Sunday was quiet...(just the way i like it).

Card games and a lunch time sleep.

We just moved house and it's great!

Even though its only 2 bedrooms compared to the other one with 3,  it works alot better and easier to live in, maybe because of it's more open style...who says you need a big house to be happy!

the ogoh ogoh

These are some of the hundreds of  Ogoh-Ogohs  (not the 3 in the last image!!!) which have been built over the last couple of weeks, some even taking months. Paraded down the streets last night in a wonderful procession. Lots of music, noise to scare off the evil spirits and hundreds of people. 

M and O were fortunate enough to be able to carry one and experience it first hand!

This is the night before Nyepi....the Balinese New year.  Today is the day of silence...no one out, no cars or motorbikes on the roads. everyone inside. 

Its pretty amazing to think a whole island just completly stops for 1 whole day....all is quiet and its lovely.
